Events

Here at MAGIC, we love hosting events for our community and campus partners!

When considering MAGIC facilities for your event, it is important to first understand what types of events are appropriate for our spaces. Events hosted at MAGIC must align with our academic mission of digital media research and production, or have some other MAGIC affiliation.

Next, you will need to find the right space for the activity you are looking to support. Our Wegmans Theater, atrium, and sound stage are our most popular venues.

Once you decide on the space that best fits your needs, you can then view the room availability and submit a reservation by visiting reserve.rit.edu. This website is used across all of RIT campus for room reservations (you will often here it referred to as “EMS” – events management system). All our spaces can be found under the “MAGIC Specialty Space” tab. Check out this video for help placing a MAGIC reservation!

Please note that all our spaces have a classroom designation, meaning classes and related activity take priority. Events and extracurriculars are scheduled around classes.

Remember that when you book a space in MAGIC, we are the space owners but not the event owners. This means logistical coordination and ownership is handled by you and your events team, but we are always here to answer questions. We want to be sure you are comfortable within our spaces and that your event runs smoothly!
